On 31 July, 2014, GPPI-CPR and
the Global Health Strategies (GHS) in their ongoing series of discussions
organized a roundtable on India's ambitious target to reduce the child
mortality rate to 38, to meet the MDG 4 targets.
The discussion aimed to discuss
the comprehensive approaches to prevent and treat these diseases such as access
to life saving medicines and technologies such as vaccines, with which millions
of lives could be saved.
The discussion was co-chaired by
Dr. Sanjay Jaiswal (BJP) and Dr. Ajoy Kumar (JVM).
Dr. Santosham Mathuram, Professor
of Pediatrics and International Health, Johns Hopkins University (JHU) Medical
Institutions, Baltimore, gave a presentation and shared his perspectives on the
topic.
